Obsession of the Week

Well, this one really applies to the past two weeks. It can probably also include the past 6 years if we’re really getting technical and the rest of our lives if we’re being honest with ourselves. Do you remember the first time you heard “SexyBack”? Yeah, me too. What about the first time you watched the video for “My Love”? Oh my god. You guessed it. The first Obsession of the Week (and our entire lives) belongs to Justin Timberlake and more specifically FutureSex/LoveSounds.

After three months without a car I finally made the trip back to Albany from my hometown on Long Island a few weeks ago in my new whip that has awesome sound. The best part of making these trips alone is having full control over the music played and not worrying about who hears you trying to hit those falsetto notes like JT (and doing so unsuccessfully with much less grace.) But who cares? You’re in it and you’re going to listen to this whole album from start to finish and enjoy every single second of every single song. Don’t fight it. You’re going to have a SafeDriving/DanceParty in those 3.5 hours in your car alone. But oh no! The album is only 1.3 hours long. Once it ends, you’re going to feel lost. You’ll ask yourself if you’re supposed to listen to it over again, and maybe you will, but it won’t have that initial excitement when you first realized you have FS/LS on your phone and it was exactly what you wanted to listen to. So what do you do? Well, you deal with it, and then you listen to it every single day after that. I’ll give you a little push right now.

I wish every time I heard this song at a party everyone there could just do this dance…

Don’t you dare stop this song before the interlude. Fatal mistake.

I don’t think I need to explain anything more. The world will just wait patiently for March 19th for The 20/20 Experience. Look at this track listing. I’ll admit I didn’t love this song at first, but boy was I wrong. I already love the whole album.

Post your favorite JT song for us all to enjoy together.
